EDUCATION AND TRAINING

The Education and Training Division offers a wide range of personal and corporate safety training programs including: Basic Back Safety, Biological Safety, Campus Safety, CPR, Electrical Safety, Ergonomics, Fire Safety, First Aid, Food Services and Sanitation Safety, Hazardous Materials Management, Hazardous Waste Management, Indoor Air Quality, Industrial Hygiene, Right to Know and Supervisory Safety Development.

On-Line Training
EH&S in collaboration with the developers of the Online Web based Learning Program (OWL) offers a variety of interactive training programs. The new on-line training programs are designed to deliver employee training programs directly to the employees' desktop or training facility. The programs currently available are:

Right-to-Know
Confined Spaces
Radiation Safety
Lock-Out/Tag-Out
Worker Protection Standard
Hazardous Waste Refresher
Hazardous Waste Management

What is Owl?
OWL (Online Web-based Learning) is a web-based system used by a number of departments at UMass. Only registered users who work with a web browser can access the system. Off campus guests can be rostered into the program. Training sessions are recorded automatically by OWL.
