Environmental Protection Services

The Environmental Protection Services program provides comprehensive pollution control services to the University. These services include guidance, collection, storage, and treatment of hazardous wastes as well as oversight of private off-site waste management contractors. Efficient compliance with federal and commonwealth regulations is its goal. EH&S also provides emergency response to chemical leaks and spills, equipment decontamination, and characterization of unknown chemical wastes. Excess chemicals are recycled through the UMass Reuse/Exchange Program.
